Medium: Original mixed media artwork on metal.
The artwork is framed in a black wood frame with a black inner slip.
My name is Claire Woolhead, born in Bedfordshire in 1993.
I create original artwork on thin sheet steel metal using a range of custom automotive paints such as metallics, xirallics, pearlescent, candy and many more. The paint is UV resistant and designed for custom show cars which I feel makes my work unique. The colour, depth and detailed intricacy comes to life under bright light. All work is sealed in and protected with high quality automotive lacquer. I was professionally trained in 2015 doing classic restoration and custom paintwork for cars and motorbikes.
I am fascinated by science, the potential of the mind, nature and the interlinking, interwoven universe that we find ourselves in. All of which influence my work although inspiration can come from many different avenues. I try to capture the incredible, complicated beauty this universe has to offer. I enjoy that everyone's base of understanding is different influencing their perception, imagination and the images they see.
Art is a wonderful form of escapism, something that in some way I think we all naturally desire. In the process of producing my work, I feel free, completely absorbed in colours, shape and the thought behind the piece. The end result is then passed on to another for their own release. I believe that my purpose in life is to make people happy, to positively effect others and the world. So far, my art seems to be one of the ways I can do this.
