Stephen was born in Oxford in 1964. A professional artist for over 40 years he lived and exhibited predominantly in Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. He now paints in the beautiful rolling countryside of Scotland, a place he has come to call home.
His high quality portrait and figure compositions have earned Stephen a reputation as one of the country's foremost contemporary sporting artists. Stephen's encounter with art began at an early age. A self taught artist he hase explored many techniques over the years to refine his own unique style. The decision to add colour in the form of pastel to early pencil sketches transformed his drawings into highly finished and accomplished paintings.
Blending a keen interest in sport with his natural artistic flair, Stephen's unique expertise lies in combining exceptional portraiture with an ability to capture the movement, power and passion of athletic endeavour and triumph.
